Uptime AV, LLC ("Uptime AV," "we," "us," or "our") provides audio-visual system design, engineering, programming, and support services based in Charleston, SC. This policy explains what information we collect through uptimeav.com and how we use it.
Information we collect
Contact form. When you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide. This is sent directly to our sales inbox so we can respond to your inquiry.
Account information. If you create an account to access our client portal, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). You may optionally register a passkey (biometric/device-based credential) instead of a password.
Cookies. We use a session cookie solely to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Business records. For clients we work with directly, we maintain customer contact and billing information (such as name, email, phone, and address) in order to prepare and send quotes, estimates, and invoices.
How we use information
We use the information above to operate this website, respond to inquiries, provide client portal access, and prepare and deliver quotes, estimates, and invoices for our services. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third-party service providers
We rely on a small number of service providers to operate this site and our business systems, each of which processes data on our behalf:
- MongoDB Atlas — hosts our application database.
- Microsoft 365 — used to send account, quote, and estimate emails on our behalf.
- QuickBooks Online (Intuit) — used internally by Uptime AV staff for accounting; connecting to QuickBooks does not share your data with customers or the public.
- Vercel — hosts this website.
Data security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and access controls limiting who at Uptime AV can view client and account data.
Data retention
We retain account and business records for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us below.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for business use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
